Deleting your account

Last updated 27 August 2026

Everything you have put into ETHOS can be removed, by you, without asking anybody. This page says how, and what is left over when it is done.

In the ETHOS phone app

This control lives on the phone, not on this website — ethosy.ai’s own account page does not have it. If you have the app installed:

  1. Open the drawer, then Settings.
  2. Choose Remove the account and everything in it, at the bottom of the page.
  3. Confirm. The confirmation names how many people would go with it, so nobody deletes a parent by mistake.

Reading this from a browser, without the app on this device? Use the email option below instead — it reaches the same deletion, by hand.

What that removes

  • Every archive on the account, and everything inside one: the material you uploaded, the passages taken from it, the conversations, and any corrections.
  • Any voice built from a recording — at our speech provider as well as here.
  • The conversational agent behind the call feature, for the same reason.
  • Any video likeness built for a call.
  • Your sign-in identity, so the email address is free to use again.

It is immediate, and there is no restore. The app tells you afterwards if any one of those steps could not be completed, rather than reporting a clean sweep it did not manage — if that happens, write to us and we will finish it by hand.

What is kept afterwards, and for how long

  • Server backups roll over on their own schedule, so a copy of a deleted archive can survive in a backup for up to 30 days. Backups are never read to answer anybody, and a restore would not bring a deleted archive back into the app.
  • Records we are required to keep — the fact that an account existed and was deleted, and any billing record. These carry no archive content.

Removing one person, rather than the account

Each archive can be let go on its own, from that person’s own page in the app, and single files can be taken out of the answers or destroyed outright without touching anything else. Deleting the account is the whole of it at once.

Without the phone app

Don’t have the app on this device, or can’t get into it? Write to fishman56256@gmail.com from the email address on the account and ask for it to be deleted. We will confirm when it is done. We may ask you to prove the address is yours, and nothing else.
